Session 7: WIN: Practice growth - past and present challenges and opportunities

Women clearly form a significant and growing component of the workforce in dentistry, emerging as leaders in practice, education, research and serving at various levels within our governing organizations. While it may have been perceived that the strength of a women in this career stems from our ‘caregiver’ core, being a successful clinician demands exceptional skills, an openness for change, progressiveness and a clear vision for leadership within practice and more globally in our profession. In this presentation, I will discuss the evolution of my periodontal practice and my global presence in education. I will share personal insights and review the clinical procedures that I have embraced as cornerstones to better position myself within my local dental community, and as importantly, how embracing change and technology has allowed me to not only improve my practice but to shape my local dental community.

Session 8: Analogue to Digital work-flow in the surgical and restorative practice

With advancement of technology, introduction of the digital work-flow in the dental practices is fast becoming the norm. However, it is of utmost importance to understand the Biologic and the Biomechanical principles required for achieving and maintaining Osseointegration. This presentation will highlight the facts, so called Analog Principles , which are the foundation for the modern day Digital work-flow. The advantages of the Digital work Flow will be highlighted and related to the fundamentals of the analog principles.
