Dr. Acela Martinez received her DMD from Universidad Autonoma de San Luis Potosi and certificate in restorative dentistry at Centro de Estudios Odontologicos in Mexico. After working in private practice, she received a certificate and MS in Periodontology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry followed by a fellowship in Advanced Implant Dentistry at the same university. Dr. Martinez is associate professor and division director of Clinical Implantology at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine. She is diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and fellow of the International Team for Implantology.
